A surprise proposal on Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast.
There are few places quite like the Cliffs of Moher for a proposal. We photograph the moment naturally, from the anticipation before the question to everything that follows, allowing you both to stay present while we quietly document it as it happens.
Haley and Alex were visiting Ireland from the US when Alex arranged what Haley thought was simply a couple shoot at the Cliffs of Moher.
Partway through their walk along the cliffs, the session became something completely different when Alex proposed. The misty weather gave the landscape a quiet, atmospheric feel and made the whole moment feel even more intimate.
We continued photographing them afterwards, allowing the rest of the session to unfold naturally as they took everything in.
AFTER THE YES
Once the surprise is over, there’s no need to turn the rest of the session into a formal photoshoot. We’ll spend a little time exploring the area together, gently guiding when needed while keeping everything relaxed and natural.
It gives you space to enjoy what just happened while we create a collection of photographs that tells more of the story than the proposal moment alone.

We can help you choose a location, plan the timing and work out the details beforehand so your partner doesn’t suspect anything. On the day, we’ll keep our distance until the moment happens, then continue with a relaxed couple session afterwards.
The weather at the Cliffs of Moher can change quickly, but that’s part of what makes this place so beautiful. Sunshine, wind or mist can each create a completely different atmosphere, and we’ll plan around the conditions as much as possible.
